MISSO Robot Enables Same-Day Knee Replacement at Max Center

New Delhi, October 15, 2025: Max Multi Speciality Center, Panchsheel Park, has marked a new medical milestone by performing a successful daycare total knee replacement surgery on a 78-year-old woman, Ms. Kamlesh Bajaj, using the MISSO Robot, a made-in-India, AI-powered robotic system. The patient discharged safely just 12 hours after the surgery. Showing how clinical expertise along with use of advanced robotic technology can make recovery faster and smoother, even for elderly patients. The success also underlines the growing capability of India’s. Homegrown medical technology to meet global standards in surgical precision and recovery outcomes.

Ms. Bajaj had been suffering from pain in her left knee for almost four years. The pain made it difficult for her to walk or climb stairs, and her daily routine became very limited. A year ago, she advised to undergo surgery, but not ready for it. When her pain increased. She visited Max Multi Speciality Center, Panchsheel Park. Where detailed X-rays and clinical checks confirmed that her knee joint badly damaged due to arthritis.

Under the care of Dr. Sujoy Bhattacharjee, Chairman, Max Institute of Robotic Joint Knee Replacement. The surgical team conducted the procedure as a daycare surgery. The patient was admitted early morning, operated and began walking within three hours of the operation. By the evening of the same day, she discharged in a stable and pain-free condition.
