New Delhi, September 1: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has issued an urgent tender for Mpox vaccines, aiming to bolster the global response to the ongoing outbreak and prioritize support for countries disproportionately affected by the virus. The initiative comes as cases continue to rise in certain regions, highlighting the need for equitable access to preventive measures.

Mpox Outbreak Continues to Pose Significant Threat

The Mpox outbreak, which began in May 2022, has spread rapidly across the globe, with varying levels of impact in different countries. While some nations have managed to contain the virus, others have experienced significant surges in cases, straining healthcare systems and putting vulnerable populations at risk.
