The Disturbing Autopsy Report of Kolkata Rape-Murder Victim

The horrific details of the crime have come to light through the autopsy report, which revealed that the victim suffered multiple injuries, including broken bones. The extent of her suffering is unimaginable, and the case has raised serious questions about the safety of women, especially those working in public institutions.

The incident has ignited a fierce debate about the state of women’s safety in India, with many pointing fingers at the government for failing to provide adequate protection. Protests erupted across the country, demanding stringent action against the perpetrators and improvements in the overall security infrastructure.

The case has also brought attention to the challenges faced by women in professions like medicine, where long working hours and isolated environments can make them vulnerable to attacks. The incident has sparked a conversation about the need for better support systems for women in such professions.

As the investigation unfolds, the nation awaits justice for the victim and hopes that this tragedy will serve as a catalyst for change. The case has become a rallying point for the fight against gender-based violence, with people demanding a safer and more equitable society for women.

What Happened On That Fateful Night?

The night of the horrendous act unfolded this way:

  • A second-year postgraduate trainee doctor spent her night just like any other night. She had dinner with her juniors and decided to go take some rest at 2 am, early morning.
  • Due to a lack of rest space in the hospital, the doctor decided to go rest in the seminar hall, considering it safe to rest.
  • Cut to next morning when her body was discovered semi-nude inside a seminar hall on August 9, after she had been on duty the previous night.
  • Her father expressed grave concerns, stating that there were clear indications of rape and that the hospital was delaying the investigation.

In its order to transfer the probe to CBI, Calcutta high court came down heavily on the hospital administration.
