New Delhi, September 15: The Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme, also known as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), is a flagship health insurance program launched by the Government of India to provide financial protection to economically vulnerable families against hospitalization expenses. The scheme aims to cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families, providing them with a health insurance cover of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
