In an effective move aimed at strengthening the public healthcare, the government has announced a substantial boost in fund allocation for health services, including AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy). This increased funding underlines the government’s commitment to health promotion, disease elimination, and the strengthening of public healthcare services.

“The significant boost in fund allocation for health, including AYUSH, underscores the government’s commitment to health promotion, disease elimination and strengthening public healthcare services. Additionally, Customs duty exemptions on three cancer treatment drugs demonstrates a focused effort to make life-saving treatments more affordable and accessible. These actions are commendable steps towards health for all,” said Dr. Roderico H. Ofrin, WHO Representative to India.

The recent customs duty exemptions on three cancer treatment drugs further highlight the government’s focused effort to make essential, life-saving treatments more affordable and accessible to the population. This move is expected to improve the financial burden on patients and their families, ensuring that crucial medications are within reach for those who need them most.

These actions are part of a broader strategy to enhance the overall healthcare infrastructure in India, aiming to provide comprehensive and equitable healthcare services to all citizens. The increased funding and tax exemptions signify a strong commitment to achieving health for all, aligning with global health goals and improving the quality of life for millions across the country.
