Controlling blood sugar and other associated metabolic syndrome but after long term studies it has found that these drugs lead to increase in weight gain. Higher incidence of cancer, heart disease and abnormal behavior especially in children. All the artificial sweeteners are bad including stevia which suppose to be mildest. They had the worst effect on children as they pushed those children towards obesity and other complications. They are sweet at tongue and poisonous at heart.”
