Almonds are believed to be the dynamo of nutritious elements that provide several health advantages and relief from multiple health issues. A new study has revealed that consuming almonds might ease the sense of muscle pain during exercise recovery and also enhance performance in some specific tasks. The findings of the study have been released in the Journal of Frontiers in Nutrition. The authors of the study say that munching on almonds can be recommended to individuals who occasionally work out as an apt food that will help them stay fit even after being injured due to hard exercise training. The study highlighted that non-smoking people assessed in the study were marginally overweight and seldom exercised or led active lifestyles but were not athletes.

As per the findings of the study, almonds are surprisingly nutritious and have nutrients such as good fats, protein, antioxidants, and vitamin E, hence, they are an apt choice for people who indulge in regular exercise. While carrying out the study, the authors of the study have noted that around 25 slightly overweight men and women in their middle age were able to do a 30-minute downhill treadmill run assessment after eight weeks of eating 57 grams of whole raw almonds daily. Health experts involved in the study revealed that the participants reported a drop of almost 25 percent in their muscle pain while doing a hard and vigorous exercise such as a vertical jump challenge or a 72-hour workout recovery period.

Health experts say that a healthy and balanced diet is mandatory for overall fitness and well-being. The findings of the study show that along with regular exercise, consuming a healthy and nutrient-rich diet is a must for improved overall health. Nevertheless, the authors of the study say that people should have a suitable dietary plan in place and adhere to their exercise routine, which will help them in the long run.
