A fire broke out at an eye hospital in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area on Wednesday morning (June 5). According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the fire was reported at around 11:30 am. There have been no reports of injuries so far.

As soon as the fire was reported, 12 fire trucks were sent to the scene to control the fire. The hospital is located near the Vinobapuri metro station in Lajpat Nagar. Dark smoke was seen rising from the building.

The firefighting operation is still ongoing, and officials are working hard to bring the situation under control. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and more details are expected to come in soon.

The fire at Eye 7 Hospital in Lajpat Nagar happened just days after another major fire at Eye Mantra Hospital in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. The fire at Eye Mantra started on the second floor, but luckily, everyone was safely evacuated, and no one was hurt, according to the Delhi Fire Services. Last month, a big fire at a hospital in Vivek Vihar tragically killed seven newborns. Sadly, seven newborns lost their lives in that fire. However, the quick action of the firefighters ensured that 12 other newborn babies were safely evacuated from the hospital.

Following these incidents, the Delhi government has ordered all hospitals to conduct fire safety checks, as safety issues have been found at the neonatal centre in Vivek Vihar.

The recent fire at the eye hospital in Delhi brings back memories of that tragic incident, but thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries this time. The authorities are doing everything they can to manage the situation and prevent any harm.
