In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a woman named Deepa had a shocking experience with her ice cream. She ordered an Amul vanilla ice cream tub online from Blinkit. When she opened the ice cream, she found a dead centipede frozen inside. Deepa lives in Sector-12 of Noida and ordered the ice cream on a Saturday. She posted a video on social media showing the centipede and describing her experience. The video quickly went viral.

Blinkit, the delivery service, refunded Deepa’s money and started an investigation. Amul, the company that made the ice cream, also contacted Deepa to assure her they would look into the incident. A team from the food department saw Deepa’s video and went to her house to ask her questions as part of their investigation.

The officials then visited the Blinkit store in Sector-22, where the ice cream tub came from. They checked the place where the Amul vanilla ice cream tubs were stored and sent samples for testing. The officials found a lot of dust at the Blinkit store, which raised concerns about hygiene.

In another disturbing incident, a doctor in Mumbai found a human finger in his ice cream. Dr. Brendan Ferrao, who lives in Orlem, Malad, was eating a butterscotch ice cream cone from Yummo Ice Creams. He felt something unusual in his mouth and thought it was a “big nut” but soon realized it was a human finger with a nail.

Dr. Ferrao filed a complaint against Yummo Ice Creams. The ice cream sample was sent for forensic investigation to understand how the finger ended up in the ice cream. Yummo Ice Creams responded by stopping production at the third-party facility that made the ice cream. They also isolated the affected product both at the facility and in their warehouses and were working to remove it from the market.

These two incidents highlight serious concerns about food safety and hygiene in the ice cream industry. Both companies involved have promised to investigate and take necessary actions to prevent such incidents from happening again.
