Odisha Health Department Increases Vigilance Following 5 New Diphtheria

Following the confirmation of five fresh cases of diphtheria, the health unit in Odisha is now on high alert. This bacterial infection, which is described as highly contagious, can lead to severe health consequences in the absence of prompt treatment. The people affected are currently being treated in local health facilities; they have not been named yet through further contact tracing efforts by authorities there.Official sources disclosed that five people have died of the disease in Manushpadar village of Kashipur block in the recent past; this illness has claimed, in sum, five lives in the last one month from the total number of cases identified.
