A patient infected with diphtheria would often have swollen lymph glands, a stuffy nose and heavy breathing (as well as fever and chills). The infection produces a toxin that is carried by the blood to other organs in the body. This can result in serious complications for the patient including myocarditis, neuritis, generalized sepsis, peripheral neuropathy (palsy), encephalitis and coma. Those in power are asking the public to stay on the lookout and to ensure they receive vaccines to safeguard them from diphtheria, as it is the top method of prevention for this potentially deadly disease. The help speakers are still working with power heads and health caring givers when need be to put enough measures which ensure that the society is well taken care of as the affair unfolds. The intensification of the instances in the latest days serves as a strong warning that one should vaccinate themselves together with observing the existence of preventable illnesses like diphtheria.
