Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that the final results of the NEET-UG 2024 will be declared within two days. This news comes shortly after the Supreme Court dismissed pleas seeking the cancellation and re-test of the medical entrance exam.

The Supreme Court stated that there was no evidence to support claims of a “systemic breach” in the NEET-UG 2024, despite allegations of question paper leaks, fraud, and impersonation.

Both the BJP-led NDA government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) faced significant criticism and protests over the alleged malpractices, including paper leaks, fraud, and impersonation in the all-India medical exam.

NEET UG 2024 Final Result

At a press conference, Education Minister Pradhan confirmed that the NTA would announce the NEET-UG final results within two days. He also mentioned that the exam’s merit list would be revised following the Supreme Court’s observations. Around 4 lakh students’ ranks are expected to change, as an IIT Delhi report confirmed that only one option in an ambiguous physics question was correct.

Pradhan expressed his satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s verdict, stating, “‘Satyamev Jayate’. Truth has prevailed.” He added, “The apex court dismissed the pleas seeking cancellation and re-test of the 2024 NEET-UG, holding that there was no evidence on record to conclude that the sanctity of the exam has been violated. Today’s verdict on NEET-UG will put speculation to rest and provide relief to lakhs of hardworking and honest students.”

Pradhan also emphasized that anyone found involved in exam irregularities would face consequences. “We have zero tolerance for breaches; maintaining the integrity of exams is paramount for us. The sanctity of exams is supreme for us,” he emphasized.

He criticized the opposition, accusing them of trying to create “anarchy and civil unrest” over the NEET issue. He defended the government’s handling of the situation, highlighting their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

NEET UG Counselling May Begin Soon

The NEET UG 2024 counselling registration is expected to begin soon. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to release a detailed notification and schedule on its official website, mcc.nic.in.

The Supreme Court’s interim verdict has provided much-needed clarity and direction in the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2024. With the final results expected soon, candidates and stakeholders can look forward to resolving the issues that have affected the exam’s reputation.
