What Causes Heart Attack In Children?

While the exact cause of the heart attack is still under investigation. Medical experts have highlighted several risk factors that can contribute to cardiac events in children. These include:

Congenital Heart Defects: Some children are born with heart defects that can increase their risk of heart problems. These defects can be present from birth or may develop later in life.

Genetic Predisposition: Certain genetic factors can make individuals more susceptible to heart disease. Family history of heart problems can be a significant indicator.

Underlying Medical Conditions: Children with underlying health conditions such as diabetes. High blood pressure, or obesity may be at a higher risk of heart disease.

Stress and Anxiety: Excessive stress and anxiety can have a negative impact on heart health, even in children.

Sedentary Lifestyle: A lack of physical activity and a sedentary lifestyle can contribute to heart problems, particularly in children who spend long hours engaged in screen-based activities.

Substance Abuse: While less common in children, substance abuse can have detrimental effects on heart health.

Environmental Factors: Exposure to certain environmental factors, such as air pollution or exposure to harmful chemicals, can also contribute to heart disease.

In light of this tragic incident, it is imperative to prioritize the health and well-being of children and to take proactive steps to address the increasing prevalence of heart-related issues among minors. Schools, parents, and healthcare providers must work together to promote healthy lifestyles, encourage regular check-ups, and raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of heart disease in children.
