Alka Yagnik’s Hearing Disorder revealed: The Deafening Impact of Loud Music

Recently, Alka Yagnik talked about her struggle with an ear problem. The particular one was a rare condition of sudden viral sensor neural hearing loss. She said this is what made her stay away from people during her Instagram post on June 17th. Alka described her diagnosis as a sudden major blow that she did not expect and stated that she is still adjusting to it, asking for everyone’s support and understanding in this difficult period while requesting prayers for her to recover.Furthermore, with the health hazards her profession brings, Alka advised young talents and enthusiasts to be keen on exposure to loud music and headphones. She hoped to restart her life and be back to the music industry without delay. A few weeks ago, as I walked out of a flight, I suddenly felt I was not able to hear anything. Having mustered some courage in the weeks following the episode, I want to break my silence now for all my friends and well-wishers who have been asking me why I’m missing in action.””It has been diagnosed by my docs as a rare sensory neural nerve hearing loss, due to a viral attack… This sudden, major setback has caught me completely unaware. As I attempt to come to terms with it please keep me in your prayers. For my fans and young colleagues, I would add a word of caution regarding exposure to very loud music and headphones. One day, I wish to share the health perils of my professional life. With all your love and support I am hoping to recalibrate my life and come back to you soon. Your support and understanding will mean the world to me in this critical hour…,” she added.What Takes Place with Loud Music in Your Ears?When you use headphones with the volume set too high, it may cause damage to your delicate eardrum, leading to varying degrees of hearing loss either on a permanent or temporary basis. Using these gadgets for a long time while listening to music will definitely interfere with ear cells whose work is receiving sound waves before converting them into signals which are then forwarded to the brain via nerves. We all know that once we lose our sense of hearing there is no way back because ‘gone’ means ‘gone forever.’ It is always good practice however to know at which point sound volumes are dangerous and safe levels at which you can listen without impairing your aural organs.
