Apollo Institute of Spine Surgery Launched in Chennai

New Delhi, January 24- Apollo Hospitals on Friday launched Apollo Institute of Spine Surgery in Chennai of Tamil Nadu terming it the most advanced spine surgery centre in South Asia.

The institute was launched by Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar in the presence of Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman Apollo Hospitals Group.

The Institute offers specialized spine service that could offer 360 degree care from the most advanced robotics system called the “Exelsius GPS Spine Surgery Robot” for complex spine surgeries.

This advancement reduces instances of infections, implant inaccuracies, revision surgeries, radiation exposures and
patient’s length of stay at the facility, Dr Reddy told reporters.

He said that the Apollo Spine Unit was equipped with most advanced
3rd Generation Spine Robot to perform extremely complex and challenging spine surgeries with extreme safety and precision.
