Today most people are working from home due to the COVID-19. According to a survey conducted by a Chennai-based firm it is found that almost 95 per cent of Indian firms are planning to allow their employees to continue working from home for the next 2 years. And if it happens, we know that people have to spend long hours staring at a computer screen.

According to a CMR study, the average screen time for Indians shot up by 25 per cent to up to 6.5 hours last year and as many as 23 per cent respondents complained of weaker eyesight owing to increased screen time, cataract and other age-related vision problems. But the numbers are likely to be much worse this year as people continued to use their devices for work, school and social networking during the pandemic.

In this article, Mr. Shrawan Daga, Founder of Krishna’s Herbal & Ayurveda shared some Ayurveda Remedies To Deal With Computer Vision Syndrome, he said, computer vision syndrome often occurs in people who spend over 5 hours daily staring at a computer screen. Ayurveda has some essential home remedies that can help relieve the In stress on your eyes caused due to CVS.

Palming involves rubbing your palms vigorously and placing your warmed palms on your eyes. Ensure your palms are not adding any pressure on your eyeball. Next, take a few deep breaths while exhaling from your nose. Best done before bedtime as it is known to enhance sleep quality.

Known to give instant relief, Icing helps reverse the effect of excessive heat in the eyes.  Place a cotton ball or gauze that has been soaked in cold milk or rose water over your eyelids for about 5 minutes.

Activate your facial arteries and nerves and help your eyes relax by splashing cool water on your face 3-5 times.

Having half a teaspoon of powder amla twice a day for a month can help strengthen the eye muscles and relieve any strain on your eyes. Alternatively you can also consume Amla juice 30ml twice a day to keep your eye vision healthy.

A teaspoon of Triphala powder had with a teaspoon of honey and 5 drops of ghee before going to bed can help treat CVS. It can be continued for 6-8 weeks.

When it comes to caring for your eyes, prevention is better than cure. So take care of your eyes before a muscle strain gets severe and cause permanent damage to your eyes.
