Mohsin Khan Discloses He Suffered a Mild Heart Attack Last Year Linked to Fatty Liver

Mohsin Khan, best known for portraying Kartik in the popular TV show “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai,” recently revealed that he suffered a mild heart attack last year. The 32-year-old actor shared his experience during an interview with Pinkvilla, where he discussed the health issues he faced and how they led him to take a break from his acting career.

The Diagnosis: Fatty Liver

Mohsin Khan explained that he had developed a condition known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This condition occurs when fat builds up in the liver without the influence of alcohol. Khan shared, “Fatty liver hoh gaya tha, toh last year I had a mild heart attack and maine bataya nai. Aur bahut zyada badh gaya tha (I had fatty liver, and last year had a mild heart attack. But I didn’t tell anyone. It had become quite serious).”

A Critical Moment

Reflecting on the severity of his condition, the actor mention that the situation was quite serious. “I was admitted for some time. Phir eljaz wagera hua. 2-3 hospital change kiye humne (We switched between 2-3 hospitals for treatment. But now, everything is under control.),” Khan said. Thankfully, his health improved, and he reassures his fans, “But it is now controlled, mashallah.”

Impact on Mohsin Khan Life

The health scare led Mohsin Khan to take a step back from his career, allowing him to focus on his recovery. The actor, who had worked tirelessly for seven years, took a break for two-and-a-half years. During this time, he noticed that his immunity had weakened, making him more susceptible to falling ill. Despite these challenges, he is now doing much better.

Understanding Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

When asked about the cause of his condition, Mohsin admitted, “Pata nai, it is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcohol bina piye bhi aapko fatty liver hoh sakta hai. Par woh pata nai hoh jata hai, maybe hum sleep pattern sahi nai hai. Woh hua tha. (It’s called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. You can develop a fatty liver even without drinking alcohol. It just happens without you realizing it, maybe because our sleep patterns aren’t right. That’s what happened).”
