Gandhinagar, Gujarat – In light of the approaching Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya conducted a thorough review of the preparedness measures taken by the state of Gujarat. Acknowledging the potential threat posed by the cyclone, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of proactive planning and coordination among various departments to ensure the safety and well-being of the people in Gujarat.

During the high-level review meeting, attended by officials from the State Disaster Management Authority, Health Department, and other relevant agencies, Dr. Mandaviya stressed the need for comprehensive preparedness measures. He urged the authorities to closely monitor the situation, issue timely warnings, and evacuate vulnerable areas, if required, to prevent any loss of life.

Recognizing the significance of healthcare services during such emergencies, Dr. Mandaviya instructed the health department to ensure an adequate stock of essential medicines, medical supplies, and equipment in all healthcare facilities across the cyclone-prone regions. He also directed the deployment of additional medical teams and ambulances to promptly respond to any medical emergencies.

In order to maintain seamless communication and coordination, the Union Health Minister emphasized the importance of establishing dedicated helplines and control rooms.
