In addition, the residents held a protest on 17th August, further emphasizing the urgent need for improved safety and security measures for healthcare professionals, especially women, to prevent such devastating incidents from ever occurring again. It highlighted the need for improved safety and security measures for healthcare professionals, especially women, who often work under vulnerable conditions.

“We have declared a complete shutdown of OPD, elective OTs and IPD work. I believe unfortunately that protests and discontinuation of duties have now become the need of the hour to pressurise the authorities and speeding the investigation process so that justice is not delayed. We will continue to fully support the agitation till some concrete changes to address the problem of safety and security of all cadres of workers in health service are not taken” shared Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman Board of Management, Sir Gangaram Hospital
