Kidney stones are the microscopic hazards occurring in the urinary tract. Kidney stones occur due to mineralized deposits and they are moderately painful. However, it is important to understand the early signs and symptoms of these unwanted deposits and certain ways to treat them with nominal fuss. Here are some early warning signs that may specify the onset of this issue.

People at times feel agonizing pain mostly on the sides of their lower back. Such pain sometimes even spreads down to the abdomen and groin region, which can shoot up discomfort and lead to severe pain. People who suffer from kidney stones start feeling the frequent urge to urinate but are barely able to urinate a drop. Foul-smelling urine is also considered another sign of a urinary disease along with kidney stones. Burning sensation while urinating and fatigue are also early indicators of kidney stone issues.

The treatment of kidney stones depends on the stage of the condition. If kidney stones are smaller in size, healthcare providers advise patients to wait until they naturally pass through urine. It is recommended to elevate water intake to flush out smaller kidney stones. A few over-the-counter drugs as well can provide relief from pain and discomfort. Certain dietary changes also help avert stone formations in the future. In the case of stubborn stones, which are bigger in size, natural processes might not solve the issue, and healthcare providers might have to opt for other surgical interventions and treatment alternatives.

Healthcare providers need to plan the course of treatment as per the severity of the condition. However, postponing the removal of kidney stones can increase the likelihood of severe complications such as the requirement for a kidney transplant. If people experience any of such symptoms they should immediately consult their doctors for timely diagnosis and swift treatment.
