With screen time becoming an everyday necessity in our digital world, it’s important to care for our eyes to avoid strain and possible long-term damage. Adding a few easy eye exercises to your daily habits can help ease strain from too much screen use and keep your eyes healthy.

Blinking Exercises

Blinking naturally keeps our eyes moist and prevents dryness, particularly when we’re glued to screens. Make a habit of blinking rapidly for a few seconds every 20 minutes to refresh your eyes and reduce strain.

Palming Technique

Palming is a method where you cover your eyes with your palms to create complete darkness, giving them a chance to rest. Simply close your eyes and gently place your cupped palms over them so no light gets in. Hold this pose for a couple of minutes to calm your eyes.

Eye Rolling

Eye rolling can effectively relieve strain and boost flexibility. Slowly roll your eyes in a circle, first clockwise, then counterclockwise. Repeat this exercise a few times to relax your eye muscles.

Focus Shifting

Staring constantly at a screen can make eyes tired. Practice focus shifting by staring at an object close to you for a few seconds, then looking at something farther away. This exercise enhances focus and reduces eye strain.

Near and Far Gazing

Avoid eye strain by alternating your gaze between nearby and distant objects. Look at something close for 10-15 seconds, then shift your focus to something far away. This helps keep your eye muscles flexible and reduces fatigue.

20-20-20 Rule For Eye Health

Following the 20-20-20 rule can greatly lessen eye strain. Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away. This helps relax your eye muscles and stave off digital eye strain.

Eye Massage

Gently massaging around your eyes can reduce tension and improve blood flow. Use your fingertips to apply light, circular pressure around your eyes. Massage for a few minutes to relax your eye muscles.

Including these simple eye exercises into your daily routine can help reduce screen-induced strain and support overall eye health. Don’t forget to take regular breaks, adjust screen brightness, and ensure proper lighting to safeguard your eyes from damage. Prioritize eye care in this digital era for long-term eye health and well-being.
