It is a fact that consuming a nutrient-rich diet is key to staying healthy. An unhealthy diet can negatively impact metabolism and damage organs. There have been multiple research on the association between diet and health, which indicate the fact that people’s food selections have a significant effect on their skin health as they grow old. Here are some superfoods that can be beneficial for people who wish to have healthy and radiant skin.

Avocados are packed with multiple good fats. Some experts say that incorporating avocados into the diet can improve skin elasticity and flexibility. Some beneficial elements found in the fruit can protect the skin from sunburn as well. Avocados contain vitamin E that is an antioxidant, which averts skin damage caused by pollutants. The skin needs vitamin C to produce collagen, which is responsible for healthy skin. Nowadays, vitamin C insufficiency is pretty frequent. However, tomatoes are rich in all three key carotenoids such as lycopene, lutein, and beta-carotene, hence they are an exceptional source of vitamin C. Nutrients found in tomatoes can halt the onset of wrinkles, and protect the skin from sunburn and pollution. A study shows that having 20 grams of antioxidants-rich dark chocolate might protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Cocoa found in dark chocolate offers notable skin-care benefits. The antioxidants of cocoa may help avert skin damage caused by sunburn, reduce wrinkles, improve blood circulation in the skin, and enhance skin texture. Dark chocolate contains nearly 70 percent cocoa.

Antioxidants found in fruits and veggies can prevent drastic cellular damage. Fruits and vegetables like papaya, kale, orange, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, and pumpkins contain beneficial antioxidants such as beta-carotene and lutein that support skin health. Passionfruit promotes skin health and shields it from oxidative stress. Eating fruits like grapes, pomegranates, and berries as well promote skin health. Hydration is required for the skin to maintain elasticity and moisture as dehydration can lead to grey, tired, and dry skin. Experts recommend that people should have at least six to eight glasses of water every day to maintain healthy skin.
