There are some neurotransmitters also called happy chemicals in the intricate region of brain chemistry that are vital in managing mood and overall health of the organ. Oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine are some crucial chemicals that lead to feelings of contentment and happiness. Although genetics have an important role in identifying standard levels of these neurotransmitters, here are some lifestyle habits and tips that can certainly affect the production of these happy chemicals in the brain.

Sunlight exposure is required for the production of serotonin. People should get some morning sunshine while having tea or having lunch outdoors. The production of serotonin thrives on natural light and vitamin D. Try having vitamin D supplements if sunlight is infrequent. Regular exercise is known as a strong endorphin factory. Experts say that physical activities such as brisk walking. a dance session, rock climbing, and swimming trigger the production of happy hormones. The fundamental thing is to keep your body moving to accelerate the production of happy chemicals in the brain.

Social bonds also help in the production of happy chemicals. Connecting with other people triggers the generation of oxytocin in the brain. An act of compassion and generosity, spending time with friends and family, or cuddling soft toys stimulate oxytocin, hence people should indulge in volunteering, charity, and making social bonds to feel the joy within. Adequate sleep serves as a reset button for the brain. People should try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep every night. To get a good night’s sleep people should avoid using their phones during bedtime, opt for a calming bedtime regime, and make the bedroom dark, quiet, and relatively cool. It is said that a rested brain is a happy brain.

Dietary nourishment is essential for brain health. Eating foods that are rich in minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins boosts the production of neurotransmitters. People should include foods like nuts, fatty fish, seeds, green veggies, and fruits in their diet for optimum brain function.
