It is a known fact that a nutritious and balanced diet is vital for maintaining overall health. Nevertheless, many people are clueless about what should be incorporated into the diet. Well, a new study conducted by experts from Aarhus University has revealed that a diet high in protein content helps elevate the feeling of satiety and avert weight gain. The study has also looked into the link between diet and cognitive function to better comprehend the significance of a balanced diet. The findings have shown that a protein-rich diet in the morning can also improve cognitive function elevating concentration.

The authors of the study gathered data from 30 overweight women in the age range of 18 to 30 years for three days and during that time they were given protein-rich breakfast. The study revealed that a protein-rich morning meal containing skyr or a sour milk product and oats helped shoot up the sense of satiety and attention among people without reducing the overall energy consumption compared to missing breakfast or having a high-carb breakfast. Furthermore, participants scored quite well in a cognitive concentration test after eating high-protein low-carb meals in the morning. The outcomes of the study reaffirm that a protein-rich breakfast can elevate a feeling of satiety promoting weight loss. Nonetheless, experts have said that eating a protein-rich breakfast is not enough for effective and healthy weight loss, it is essential to know what to include and how to consume a healthy and balanced diet. Indulging in regular physical activity is also crucial for improved well-being.

Past studies as well showed that incorporating a considerable amount of protein in the diet can be advantageous for overall health and weight loss. A study released in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition revealed that women who eat greater amounts of plant protein are at a lower risk of chronic diseases and stay healthier as they age compared to women who do not consume plant protein. Another study noted that having a higher amount of protein during the weight loss journey helps prevent the loss of lean body mass. Drop in loss of lean body mass is linked to weight loss.
