The Organ Donation and Transplant Coordination Committee (ODTCC) has successfully wrapped up its month-long “Angdaan Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan” (Public Awareness Campaign) with a series of events promoting organ donation awareness.

Key highlights of the campaign:

– Donor families were honored by the Medical Superintendent in a special ceremony.

– Educational sessions covered various transplant procedures, including bone, renal, cornea, heart, and skin transplants.

– MBBS students performed a “nukkad natak” (street play) to raise awareness.

– Informative sessions were attended by residents, students, nurses, staff, and security personnel.

– A quiz competition was held to test and improve knowledge on organ donation.

– On the final day, judges, winners, and participants of various events were honored.

The campaign successfully engaged medical professionals, students, and the general public, fostering a better understanding of organ donation and its life-saving potential.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Talwar congratulated the ODTCC team for the successful event. “This initiative has significantly increased public understanding of the importance of organ donation. The culmination ceremony celebrated the hard work of our team and the positive response from the community. We hope this campaign will lead to an increase in organ donation pledges and save many lives in the future.” She further shared that four cadaveric donations in the last six months have benefited multiple recipients.

“As the in-charge of the Organ Donation and Transplant Coordination Committee, I am proud of the impact our Angdaan Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan has made,” stated Dr. Vandana Chakravarty. “Through this campaign, we’ve educated countless individuals about the life-saving potential of organ donation. We’ve seen an encouraging increase in enquiries and pledges. Our work doesn’t stop here – we will continue to build on this momentum to create a robust culture of organ donation in our community.”
