Death of young actor Sushant Singh Rajput has come as a rude shock for all of us. His death has brought to the fore widespread mental health challenge of Covid times.
Now after his death, what he had left behind in the public space are getting intense scrutiny.
In an Instagram post last week he had shared a collage of photos of himself and his late mother with the text, “Blurred past evaporating from teardrops. Unending dreams carving an arc of smile. And a fleeting life, negotiating between the two.”
Unconfirmed reports have said that Rajput was in treatment for depression.
Rajput had spoken about the mental-being of those in his profession in the past. In an interview to Hindustan Times in July 2017, he said, “Who says actors are maintaining their mental health? That’s a wrong belief. The most important thing that an actor could do to protect himself from all these things (pressures, demands, paparazzi culture, etc) is just to know why a person is doing what he is doing.”
