#HospitalsAreSafe: Manipal Hospitals Is Committed To Delivering Optimal Patient Care In The Time Of Pandemic

Hospitals play a critical role within the health system in providing essential medical care to people. In countries like India, even under normal working conditions, many hospitals frequently operate at near-surge capacity.

Even a modest rise in the number of patients can overwhelm a well-equipped hospital.  Coping with the health consequences of a COVID-19 outbreak is a complex challenge.

During the current outbreak of COVID-19, Manipal Hospitals has been able to give an effective response. It has been able to adapt to a swift increase in demands without compromising on patients’safety.

Once you have planned your visit to the hospital, Manipal Hospials request you to follow the various recommendations by the Government of India to prevent contracting infection.

Wearing mask and sanitizing hands

The Government of India has made it mandatory wearing a mask (at least the cloth mask) at all times. Therefore, Manipal Hospials request the patients and attendees to wear your mask before you step out of your home to the hospital.

And remove it only after reaching back or as advised by your doctor. You are also advised to always carry a hand sanitizer and periodically sanitize hands and avoid touching eyes, mouth and nose.

The patients and other visitors unable to secure a mask can use a big handkerchief and other suitable cloth to cover their mouth & nose. It has arranged masks dispensing counters at various locations in the hospital.

One patient-One attendant

It’s needed to limit the number of people inside the hospital premises. Hence, patients are advised to come with only one attendant to the hospital unless inevitable. The restriction is applicable across In-Patient, Out-Patient and Emergency areas. Additional attendants may wait in the waiting lounge area and ensure social distancing norms and personal sanitization is maintained during their stay.

Accompanying children & elderly

The patients are advised not to visit or have visitors below 14 years and over 60 years of age, unless unavoidable. The rule is applicable for all OPD, In-Patients & Emergency cases.
