Tips To Avoid Vaginal Infection During Monsoon

After the scorching heat of the summer, the monsoon comes as a relief, but it brings with it a range of problems, especially for women. They are at a higher risk of vaginal infections. It is important to maintain good vaginal health during monsoon because the increased moisture in the air encourages the growth of fungus, bacteria, and yeast, which can lead to a variety of vaginal diseases.

Vaginal candidiasis, a fungal infection caused by the presence and quantity of yeast, is the most prevalent issue that arises during monsoon season.

Though we all are eager to welcome the rains and happy to experience the monsoon season, it always brings some ailments along.

Children are more prone for upper respiratory infection, so are adults.

Women complain of vaginal infection more during monsoon season. Why it happens? As the weather is pleasant and moist woman tend to wear tight fitting cloths. Also, due to rains the cloths do not dry well. How do we prevent this?

Dr. Suresh said, Wearing loose fitting cloths, changing the innerwear at least twice daily. Drinking plenty of fluids helps. Also avoiding bathing soaps and using ph specific intimate vaginal wash liquids can prevent the infection.

If the symptoms persist it is always better to meet your doctor and get examined. As yeast infection is very common during the season.

Vaginal Discharge can be common most of the times

Typically, women will notice that the discharge changes according to the menstrual cycle, just before the cycle the discharge will be thick, during the mid-cycle the discharge can be watery and again bearing the cycle the type of discharge will change, noted Dr. Suresh.

If there is any change in the type of discharge and if it has a malodour it is important to meet your doctor as Vulvovaginitis and   Vaginitis is common among women

Menopausal women if they notice a discharge they need to report to the doctor immediately
