With the work-from-home culture that has begun due to the pandemic, there are two sides to this culture. The first is where professionals are able to work in their pyjamas and not have to worry about their looks. While, on the other hand, the people working from home are using this time to undergo cosmetic procedures which include both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
The facelift after working from home! Is the new way of working that has sparked a cosmetic surgery boom. The new work-from-home culture has caused a rise in ‘Covid facelifts’. The increase seen is in the number of female patients who are now willing to go under the knife after spending more time on video calls and looking at themselves. Working from home has also given people more scheduling freedom. The time spent at home, also means that the patients will not have to answer any questions once they return to the office after they undergo the treatment, said Dr. Viral Desai’s views on the increase in Work From Home Facelifts.
People who worked in office settings before the pandemic, they spent minimal time looking at their own faces. Now, that they spend more time with their face on a screen right in front of them. Which leads the people to look more at themselves and see how different they look on screen and, in a mirror, said Dr Desai.
He added flaws that went unnoticed before have now suddenly become a big deal to a lot of people. And now, they want to be more proactive about dealing with their flaws and preventing more lines and wrinkles from developing. More and more people are ready to undergo facelifts, neck lifts and browlifts. The procedures that have longer recovery times, such as face and neck lifts, have become more popular as the patients can enjoy their recovery period by spending their time at home until they are ready to present themselves to the world rather than having to return to offices immediately.
Not all the people who are undergoing cosmetic procedures during the work from home period are doing so because they were unaware of the signs of ageing. Many of these people have wanted to undergo cosmetic procedures and get procedures done but, have not been able to do so because of not enough time off to recover from the procedures performed.
It’s much easier to do present the new look on a Zoom call than it is to walk into the office and have to answer multiple questions from curious coworkers, said Dr Desai.
He further added, right or wrong, some people are embarrassed about the possibility of being perceived as vain, and would rather not discuss their reasons for cosmetic surgery with anyone but their close and dear ones. Prior to Covid, a lot of people were afraid of all the questions they’d have to answer when they returned to their normal routine and have to explain the need and reason behind their cosmetic surgery.
Now after work from home, when you have most of your meetings online the cosmetic improvements can become much easier to reveal to the world.
In the pre-Covid world, people had to take time off to recover from their surgery. Now the patients can resume work the very next day and keep their video off during the meetings and calls.
Another one of the factors that have played an important role in the number of people undergoing cosmetic procedures during the pandemic is stress. The pandemic has caused various kinds of stress for multiple people around the world. Stress causes people to get wrinkles and face premature ageing. The way to prevent ageing and reduce the appearance of wrinkles is by undergoing cosmetic procedures.
Thus as a result of the stress multiple people have faced premature ageing in the past two years. Rather than letting the issue get worse people have started to take action about the same and are undergoing cosmetic procedures to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, signs of premature ageing and attain youthful-looking skin.
During the Covid pandemic, the patients were seeking facelifts and wanted a more natural appearance.
Over the course of the last year, the trend in the cosmetic surgery industry has been undergoing treatments that definitely give more natural and refreshed results. Cosmetic surgery has seen an increase in the working from home facelift. More people are going under the knife as they feel more comfortable after long procedures that require long recovery procedures like face and neck lifts.
