New Delhi: The Department of Biomedical and Research at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), New Delhi, organized a three-day national scientific event titled. “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Multi-Omics Data Integration and Analysis” from October 15 to 17, 2025. Bringing together leading scientists, clinicians, academicians, and industry experts to explore the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in biomedical research and healthcare innovation.
The event inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister for Science & Technology, as Chief Guest, and Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), as Guest of Honour. They were received by Padma Shri Dr. D. S. Rana, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Board of Management, SGRH.
The inaugural session began with the National Anthem, followed by Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana. In her welcome address, Dr. Rashmi Rana, Convener. Emphasized the importance of integrating AI with genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to accelerate discoveries in disease biology and personalized medicine.
During the felicitation ceremony, Padma Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) N. K. Ganguly, Patron and Chairman of the Department, lauded the collaboration between clinical research and computational science. Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman outlined ANRF’s roadmap for AI-driven R&D. While Dr. Jitendra Singh called the initiative “a step toward positioning India as a global leader in bio-innovation.”
Over three days, more than 20 speakers from institutions such as AIIMS, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, JNU, THSTI, IGIB, Karolinska Institute (Sweden). And industry leaders including Thermo Fisher Scientific and Olink. Shared insights into AI-powered genomics, metabolomics, network biology, and computational drug discovery.
Day Two highlighted metabolic modeling and network biology. While the final day focused on AI in disease detection and digital pathology. Featuring sessions by Dr. Geeta Manjunath (Niramai), Dr. Sanjeeva Srivastava (IIT Bombay), and Dr. Rajesh Pandey (CSIR-IGIB). The event concluded with a Valedictory Session recognizing the contributions of all speakers and participants.
The scientific event featured hands-on training sessions, expert talks, and interactive discussions, along with a networking gala dinner at the India International Centre. Underscoring SGRH’s commitment to advancing translational medicine, precision healthcare, and next-generation biomedical research.
