Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP Girish Bapat and other party MLAs from Pune wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday seeking his intervention in increasing the Covid-19 vaccine quota for Pune district.
To open up the vaccination process for people above the age of 30 and help to control the spread of the infection in the city the letter was put in forth a proposition.
The active number of cases in Maharashtra till 8 am Tuesday stands at 2,11,416.

To combat the virus in wake of an increase in number of infections, the Pune city administration had increased the Covid-19 testing up to 12,000 a day on Friday.
However, as many as 4,321 positive cases and 33 deaths have been reported in Pune in the last 24 hours.

According the Union minister of health and family welfare said on Tuesday informed, in the last 24 hours India reported 40,715 cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), lower than infections recorded in the last two days, and 199 related deaths.
The fresh infections and deaths have counted the country’s totally infection tally to over 11.68 million and the death toll has now risen to 160,166. The spike in coronavirus cases comes ahead of India’s first anniversary of the start of a stringent nationwide lockdown to combat Covid-19.
A year later, the pandemic is far from over and several countries, including India, are experiencing another wave of coronavirus disease
