PM Modi Appeals All To Be Part Of Janta Curfew

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the people to stay at home in a bid to maintain social distancing and breaking the chain from fast spreading of coronavirus throughout the country.

Two days back, the prime minister had given a clarion call of Janta Curfew, urging people not to venture out in order to keep themselves away from the deadly coronavirus.

In a tweet, Mr Modi said, “In a few minutes from now, the #JantaCurfew commences. Let us all be a part of this curfew, which will add tremendous strength to the fight against COVID-19 menace. The steps we take now will help in the times to come. Stay indoors and stay healthy. #IndiaFightsCorona.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had also urged the people to make ‘Janta Curfew’ a huge success by staying at home on Sunday following the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Coronavirus cases in India crossed the 300-mark, including four who have died, after 47 people tested positive in the global pandemic in various parts of the country.

Worldwide deaths surged past 11,000 on Saturday, according to data collected by the Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

More than 277,000 people have been infected, while some 88,000 have recovered.
