The Odisha government has released new guidelines to ensure the strict implementation of coronavirus protection protocols in view of a recent surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in some states.
“Public awareness through loudspeaker announcements is to be made frequently in all market places, haat and other places. Concerned authorities of Government and private offices/institutions including educational institutions shall be responsible for due compliance with the COVID-19 safety protocols in their respective establishments,” said the guidelines issued by the Office of Special Relief Com Com.
Here are the fresh guidelines issued by the Odisha govt to avoid a rise in Covid-19 cases-
- It was recommended to the district and police authorities to check and ensure strict compliance with COVID-l9 safety protocols, such as the compulsory wearing of masks and the maintenance of physical distance in all public places, including workplaces and educational institutions.
- The guidelines also stated that large congregations should be avoided and that concerned officials should ensure that the meetings are not attended by more than the permitted number of people.
- In schools, colleges, other educational institutions, and Anganwadi Centres, adequate and strict sanitation measures will be maintained.
- Teachers and concerned authorities shall ensure compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols, such as the obligatory wearing of a mask, the maintenance of physical distance, and the provision by students, teachers, staff, and others of thermal scanning & hand washing or the use of sanitisers.
- Any person identified with symptoms of COVID-19 must be immediately reported to the nearest health institution and, according to the advice of the health authorities, necessary further action must be taken.
- Furthermore, the guidelines said that only curricular activities in educational institutions would be permitted.
- In order to ensure strict compliance with physical distancing standards and other safety protocols, hotels, restaurants and dhabas must be closely monitored by the police authorities.
- Strong penal action against persons who violate the COVID-19 Guidelines shall be taken.
- “Commercial establishments found violating such norms may be sealed and action as per law be taken against such violators,” it said.
- The district authorities have also been asked to submit to the Special Relief Commissioner every Monday a weekly report on enforcement measures.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Odisha’s Covid-19 tally mounted to 3,36,636 after 58 more people tested positive for the disease, an official from the health department said. The number of deaths remained at 1,914. The Case Fatality Ratio (CFR) of Odisha is 0.56%, while its rate of positivity is 4.12%. At present, Odisha has 562 active cases, which is 0.16 percent of the caseload of the state.
