Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital prior last month, after testing positive for coronavirus, is still in the ICU and is on a ventilator confirmed doctor through news agency ANI on Saturday. The singer is 92 and was being treated for pneumonia last month.
However, she successfully recovered from COVID-19 and pneumonia in late January. Dr Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital, who has been treating the singer, told ANI that the singer is “currently in the ICU and has once again been put on ventilator support, due to her worsened condition, for which she will remain under observation.”
Meanwhile, the singer’s team has actively been sharing updates on her health in order to dismiss any kind of misinformation and rumours.
Lata Mangeshkar’s does not need an introduction as she is musical gem of the country. She has sung in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages. She has been honoured with the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several National and Filmfare Awards. Lata Mangeshkar’s last complete album was for 2004 Bollywood release Veer-Zaara.
