With government relaxing lockdown norms, several hospitals and clinics have restarted its complete functioning of healthcare services for common people. However, with the number of cases COVID-19 cases increasing aggressively, all hospitals and clinics are advised to remain vigilant and strictly follow safety protocols and take all the required measures.

Medical services, which are under the essential services category, saw a major fall in the patient turn out for the past two months due to lockdown imposed to curb the coronavirus outbreak. But now as the hospital services have started normal functioning, the OPD footfall is expected to increase with more patients for consultation.

“As the doctors, surgeons, and other necessary healthcare staff work in close proximity to their patients, are at particularly high risk of being exposed to the virus and contracting COVID-19. Therefore the routine aseptic process and protocols are being followed as usual and all the frontline warriors have been equipped with PPE suits. In order to avoid the congregation of patients coming for routine check-ups, the hospital is also encouraging the doctors to explore the potentials of Online consultations (video and Tele) to minimise the infection risk.” Said Dr PK Bharadwaj, Medical Director, Saroj Group of Hospitals, New Delhi.

Working according to government guidelines for lockdown 5.0, Indira IVF – the largest fertility chain in India – has re-started its In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) services.

Indira IVF’s All 89 clinics are open for patients who are seeking treatment with all the precautionary measures as per the guidelines provided by the Government of India. Fertility clinics have shut down its services since March when the first phase of the lockdown was announced.

“The impact of the corona has greatly affected the infertile couples who have planned to undergo treatment in summers; due to lockdown conditions in the city, couples had to postpone their treatment. The good news is that now they will be able to re-start their treatment at Indira IVF clinics. To tackle the previous load of the IVF patients, we are giving priority to patients whose embryos were frozen with us but due to lockdown they couldn’t undergo Embryo Transfer procedure followed by other patients,” Dr Kshitiz Murdia, Chief Operating Officer, Indira IVF said.
