On Tuesday morning, a fire broke out at the Old Emergency Building of Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The incident occurred around 10:40 am, and the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) promptly dispatched seven fire tenders to the scene. According to Atul Garg, the DFS chief, the fire originated in the store room near gate 6 of the old emergency building.

“The fire was at gate 6 of the old emergency building of the Safdarjung Hospital. Seven fire tenders were rushed to the site. Fire is in the building’s store room,” Garg said.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties due to the fire. The DFS chief mentioned that the department received the alert and quickly responded to contain the situation. Currently, authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.

This incident follows previous fire incidents in Delhi’s hospitals, including the tragic fire at a Children’s Hospital that claimed the lives of seven babies. Another notable incident was a fire at an Eye Hospital in Lajpat Nagar and a fire at a South Delhi Cancer Hospital. Each time, fire departments and hospital staff have worked swiftly to handle the situation and ensure the safety of patients and staff.

Hospital officials are now assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire at Safdarjung Hospital’s old emergency building. They are expected to provide further updates as the investigation progresses and measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
