Covid-19: Aishwarya Rai, Earlier In Home Quarantine, Admitted To Nanavati Hospital

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have been admitted at Nanavati Hospital after they found to be detected Covid-19 positive on Sunday. They were under house isolation earlier.

They had complained of throat pain and mild fever.

Meanwhile, bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his actor-son Abhishek are recuperating in an isolation ward in the same hospital.

Earlier, informing everyone about Aishwarya and Aaradhya being coronavirus positive, Abhishek Bachchan had tweeted, “Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive. They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful.The rest of the family including my Mother have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers”.

On Saturday, Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati hospital with mild symptoms.

The actor took to Twitter to share the news with his fans. He wrote, “I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!”

Soon after Amitabh confirmed the news on Twitter, his son Abhishek also tested positive for COVID-19.

He informed everyone about the same via a tweet: “Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, the coronavirus count on Friday hit two grim milestones as the tally crossed 10 lakh while the death toll crossed 25,000.

The total coronavirus cases rose to 10,03,832 after a record 34,956 fresh infections were reported in past 24 hours.

The death toll rose to 25,602, including 687 in past 24 hours.

India is the third country to report over 1 million cases after the US and Brazil.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India has 3,42,473 active COVID-19 cases, which is around a third of the country’s infection tally.

Recoveries rose to 6,35,756 including a record number of 22,942 number of patients declared cured in 24 hours.

India’s first COVID-19 case was detected on January 30 in Kerala.

It was for the sixth consecutive day that COVID-19 cases have increased by more than 28,000.

The huge surge in cases has led several states to reimpose lockdows for varying periods.
